Cold fresh shredded potato

In summer, people are annoyed to eat dishes with much oil. The best dishes for hot weather are cold and less oil food. Do not worry about what dishes you prepare in summer, cold dishes are the good option. They are easy to cook and taking less time.

Potatoes are not only a stir-fry material, but they can be cooked as a cold dish ingredient.Cold fresh shredded potato is one course of cold dishes. The taste is crisp and fresh when you are eating it. You can cook them with different flavours, such as sour, sweet, spicy or mix sour and spicy together and so on.

Next, I will tell you how to cook cold fresh shredded potato. My favourite flavour is sour or mix sour and spicy together. For the dish, I will introduce my flavour first and then add some other flavour at the end of my recipe.

Raw materials: fresh potato, coriander

Seasonings: salt, chicken bouillon, vinegar, sesame oil

Ingredients

Fresh potato 1*(around 250 g)
Coriander 3*
Salt 3g +1/2 teaspoon
Chicken bouillon 1/2 teaspoon
Vinegar 1 tablespoon
Sesame oil Some drops

Step 1

Use peeler to remove potato peel and then wash the whole potato. Cut potato into pieces. Finally, slice them into shreds. Shredded potato should be as thin as possible. Prepare a bowl of water, put shredded potato in it and stir them in order to remove starch within potato. After that, put shredded potato into drainer to drain water away, then standby.

Step 2

Prepare a pot of boiling water with 3 g salt, put shredded potato in step 1 into boiling water. When the water re-boiling again. Switch off fire and transfer shredded potato into drainer again, pouring with cold water and let them cool down. After drainer away water, remove shredded potato into large bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon and 1 tablespoon vinegar. Stir them with chopsticks frequently to make ensure salt and chicken bouillon melt into potato. Then put them into plate.

Step 3

Wash coriander and chop them into small. Show as the photo blew. sometimes, you would use chives instead. Decorate potato with small coriander, add 3-5 drop sesame oil. The course is ready. Before you eat it, you would better mix them.

Other flavours of cold shredded potato:

Some friends like spicy flavour. I suggest that in the step 2, you should better add appropriate chillie powder or chillie sauce to mix.

Someone likes both sour and spicy, they can add vinegar and chilies powder at the same time.

  2. Does it have to be chicken bouillon? Wouldn’t a vegetable bouillon, such as Marigold, be just as good, making the dish suitable for vegetarians?

    • haha, both of them are ok. because there are only chicken bouillon at home. I also reckon vegetable bouillon is good. How about the dish? You can try it. Good dish for summer.
